I’m moving to China!
Today, August 2, I am heading to China to teach English for a whole school year. I will be placed at a middle or high school in Shenzhen under the guidance of the Center for Learning and Teaching Chinese. In addition to teaching, I will receive Mandarin lessons.
I am very excited to take on this exciting, once in a lifetime opportunity. I’ve always wanted to live abroad, and now is really the perfect time to do it. I’ve also got two years of Mandarin classes from the University of Michigan under my belt, and I’m crossing my fingers that it will help me get by for those 10 months.
So, does this mean I’m leaving journalism/design? Nope. I plan to look for those jobs when I return.
I will try as much as I can to blog the experience, but I won’t know how often I’ll be able to access various websites, including this one. If you would like to contact me while I’m gone, please use the contact form.
