About

Bridget O’Donnell is a designer experienced in various publishing platforms. She is currently living in Shanghai, China working as a designer for Ataway. She previously worked for the China Daily in Beijing and Shanghai Daily.

A University of Michigan graduate and 2009 Poynter Summer Fellow, Bridget spent eight months as a primary school English teacher in Shenzhen. She is particularly interested in content design (both for print and web) and information graphics (print and interactive). Her professional experience in visual journalism includes an internship with the Art Department of New York Times (2008), which she earned after winning the Society for News Design’s “The Intern” competition at SNDBoston. She was also an intern at Creative Circle Media Consulting (2009) and an art intern at Autoweek magazine (2007).

At Michigan, Bridget was The Michigan Daily’s Managing Design Editor for nearly two years before becoming the Managing Online Editor in 2008. Under her direction, the Daily received not one, but two extensive redesigns — one for print, the other for web.
